Joyce Wu, MD is a pediatric neurologist and epileptologist with more than 20 years of clinical experience in childhood epilepsies, including medical, surgical, neuromodulation device, and more recently, genetic- and mechanism-driven treatments. Dovetailed with her clinical experience are her research interests in imaging and EEG biomarkers in epileptogenesis, as well as research in seizure-free and neurodevelopmental outcomes, to continue to improve the standard of care for children with medically refractory epilepsies. Currently a Professor at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, she also co-directs the Multidisciplinary Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Clinic for children and adults with this rare genetic condition and high prevalence of epilepsy.

 

Dr. Wu has received multiple grants from the NIH, DOD, pharmaceutical, and non-profit/patient advocacy groups, and has lectured nationally and internationally on the developing brain and childhood epilepsies.
